Insightful comments from John Mayer

“Life is like a box of crayons. Most people are the 8-color boxes, but what you’re really looking for are the 64-color boxes with the sharpeners on the back. I fancy myself to be a 64-color box, though I’ve got a few missing. It’s ok though, because I’ve got some more vibrant colors like periwinkle at my disposal. I have a bit of a problem though in that I can only meet the 8-color boxes. Does anyone else have that problem? I mean there are so many different colors of life, of feeling, of articulation.. so when I meet someone who’s an 8-color type.. I’m like, “hey girl, magenta!” and she’s like, “oh, you mean purple!” and she goes off on her purple thing, and I’m like, “no – I want magenta!”
Someone called me complicated today. I asked them if we could agree to use the word complex, and that’s when the irony hit me.
“Sometimes I wish that I was the weather, you’d bring me up in conversation forever. And when it rained, I’d be the talk of the day.”
“High School is like a spork: it’s a crappy spoon and a crappy fork, so in the end it’s just plain useless.”

That’s a funny thought…

I am rather like a mosquito in a nudist camp; I know what I want to do, but I don’t know where to begin.

The Lighting Within
Posted by PYRO in Blog, Poetry and Quotes on 6/2/2004
As I wrap my arms around you, and you around me. I move to a place where time stands still.
Here I hold you for hours, not once letting go. Your hair is filled with the sweet smell of a garden after the rain.
A thunder storms within my heart as I hold your body close to mine. I imagine kissing softly upon your cheek, lingering for but a moment in time. I lower my arms around your waist and become lost in deep inside your eyes.
Coming closer, our lips gently meet. Lightning strikes my heart, a sensation like none before surges from within. Your lips so soft and sweet…
It is now, I realize I am but stuck in a dream. If only this dream were as unending as my love for you.

A life worth living

What a precious thing, this life.
But What Shall I do with it?
Just sit back, watching the world go by?
Perform my daily tasks, without question as to why.
Is it enough to simply be, to follow the rest of the sheep?
An endless loop.
‘Till one day, we sleep.
